Tracing effect

See how to transform bitmap picture into a trace picture using the shape effect and Trace Bitmap options. You will also learn how to brake apart a picture and more.











Step 1

First of all, find any bitmap picture that you will use for this example. You can also download my picture.





Step 2

Create a new Flash document (Ctrl + N) and set your Flash movie's frame rate to 24 fps (Frames per Second).

Step 3

Choose File > Import > Import to Stage and import that picture into a Flash.

Step 4

Click on frame 20 and press F6 key. Then choose Modify > Bitmap > Trace Bitmap. After that choose the following options from the picture below:



Now you get this:



Step 5

Go back on frame 1, take the Selection Tool (V), click once on the picture to select it and press Ctrl+B key (Break Apart).



Step 6

Click again on the first frame and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Then, On the Tween menu select Shape and for Ease set 100. See the picture
below.





Test your Movie (Ctrl+Enter).
