Applying and changing blur effect on two pictures

Learn how to apply and after that how to change blur effect on two pictures. One picture will be blured, and another one will not. After that, the situation will be changed.You can use this simple effect when you want to propound some object (in this example - picture) in lot objects. Let's go!



Step 1

First of all, download this two pictures, which we will be use for this lesson to make it quickly.







Step 2


Create a new flash document. Select Modify > Document (shortcut key: Ctrl+J ). Set the width of your document to 340 pixels and the height to 200 pixels. Select any color as background color and set your Flash movie's frame rate to 24 fps. Then, click ok.

Step 3

Choose File > Import > Import to Stage (Shortcut key: Ctrl+R) and Import this two pictures into a flash.

Step 4

Double click on layer 1 to rename its name in picture 1. After that. select just one picture and press Ctrl+X key (Cut). Then, create a new layer above the picture 1 layer and name it picture 2.

Step 5

Select picture 2 layer and press Ctrl+Shift+V key (Paste in Place).

Step 6

Using the arrows key, or by mouse, place the pictures on this position:



Step 7

Go back on the picture 1 layer and press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert the first picture into a Movie Clip Symbol. See the picture below.



Step 8

Take the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the picture to select it. After that, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3). Click on the Filters tab in the Properties Panel.After that, click on the plus icon and select the Blur filter. Make the adjustements as follows:

1. Blur X and Y : 12
2. Quality : Medium



Now, you have this:



Step 9

Click on frame 10, 30.40 and 60 and press F6 key.

Step 10

Go back on frame 10. Take again the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the picture 1 to select it. After that, go again to the Properties Panel. Then, for Blur filters make the adjustements as follows:



Repeat this process also for frame 30 and 60.

Step 11

Right-click again anywhere on the gray area between the frame 1 and 10 and frame 30 and 40 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.



Step 12

We're done with the first picture and it's time for the second picture.

Step 13

Take the Selection Tool (V) and select the picture 2 layer. After that, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert the second picture into a Movie Clip Symbol.



Step 14

Click on frame 10, 30.40 and 60 and press F6 key.

Step 15

Go back on frame 10 and repeat step 8, but for this time, do that for the second picture. After that, repeat that process also for frame 30.

Step 16

Right-click again anywhere on the gray area between the frame 1 and 10 and frame 30 and 40 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.



Test your movie (Ctrl+Enter).
