Using this lesson, you will see how to create very advanced and modern line art header using some special flash tips and tricks.You can use this header for any web site, flash banner, header, presentation. This header is very simple for create but in the same time very modern and powerful. You don't have to use action script code to make this header.You will also learn:

1. How to draw lines and animate it,
2. How to create mask effect,
3. How to zoom in, zoom out any part of picture,
4. How to use Selection Tool to create some special objects and much more.

Example:



Step 1

First of all, save the picture below. That picture we will use for this header.





Step 2


Create a new flash document. Press Ctrl+J key on the keyboard (Document Properties) and set the width of your document to 444 pixels and the height to 158 pixels. Select any color as background color.Set your Flash movie's frame rate to 24 and click ok.

Step 3

Choose File > Import > Import to Stage (shortcut key:Ctrl+R) and import this picture into a flash stage. While the picture is still selected, go to the Align Panel (Ctrl+K) and do the following:

1. Make sure that the Align/Distribute to Stage button is turned on,
2. Click on the Align horizontal center button and
3. Click the Align vertical center button.



Step 4

Dobule click on layer 1 to rename its name in main picture. After that, create a new layer above the layer main picture and name it lines.

Step 5

Take the Line Tool (N) and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Then, choose the following options:

1. Enter #7C7D7A for the stroke color
2. Select Solid as the type of outline, with the line thickness set to 0.5.



Then, start draging lines over the picture like it is shown on the picture below.



Do that, util you don't draw all lines... See the picture below.



Step 6

Create a new layer above the layer lines and name it mask.

Step 7

Take the Rectangle Tool (R). In the Colors portion of the Tool panel, block the Stroke color by clicking on the little pencil icon and then on the small square with the red diagonal line. For Fill color choose any color and draw a “rectangle” below the picture about 460 × 90px. See the picture below.



Step 8

Take the Selection Tool (V) and do like it is shown on the picture below.



Now, you have this:



Step 9

Click on frame 90 and press F6 key. Do this also for layer main picture and lines. After that, go back on frame 90 of layer mask and move the rectangle above the picture. See the picture below.



Step 10

Right-click anywhere on the gray area between the frame 1 and frame 90 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears. See the picture below.



Step 11

Select mask layer and convert it to a mask by right-clicking on the mask layer and selecting Mask. See the picture below.



Step 12

Create a new layer above the mask layer and name it circle.

Step 13

Take the Oval Tool (O). For Stroke Color choose #C3C3C3, for Fill color choose no color and draw a circle about 40x40px and place it on the position like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 14

While the circle is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this circle into a Movie Clip Symbol.



Step 15

After that, click on frame 15 and press F6 key. While you're still on frame 15, take the Free Transform Tool (Q) and enlarge the circle a lot. After that, take the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the circle to select it. After that, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Alpha in it and put it down to 0%.



Step 16

Right-click again anywhere on the gray area between the frame 1 and frame 15 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.

Step 17

Select again the main picture and press Ctrl+V key on the keyboard (Break Apart). After that, take the Selection Tool (V) and select only one part of picture. Then, press Ctrl+C key (Copy), create a new layer above the main picture layer, name it part of main picture and press Ctrl+Shift+V key (Paste in Place). While the part of main picture is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this part of main picture into a Movie Clip Symbol. After that, click on frame 15 and 30 and press F6 key. Then, go back on frame 15, take the Free Transform Tool (Q) and enlarge the part of picture a little.

Step 18

Right-click again anywhere on the gray area between the frame 1 and frame 15 and frame 15 and 30 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.
