Using this detailed, thoroughly explained lesson, you will see how convert a black and white photo into a color photo. You don't have to use action script code to make this lesson! This lesson is so easy for create, but in the same time very useful. You can use this animation as flash banner, for some flash header, photo presentation...
Step 1First of all, find on internet or somewhere any image in color, that you will be use for this lesson.
Step 2Save that image in some folder as image in color.
Step 3After that, open that image in photoshop and press Ctrl+Shift+U key, to convert that image into a gray scale image.
Step 4Save that image in the same folder, that you have saved the image in color and name it gray scale image.
Step 5It’s time for flash.

Open a new flash document.
Step 6Choose Modify > Document (Shortcut key: Ctrl+J) and set for frame rate 28fps (Frames per Second).
Step 7Choose File > Import > Import to Stage (Ctrl+R) and import first the gray scale image.
Step 8While the image is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this image into a Movie Clip Symbol.
Step 9Click on frame 25, and after that on frame 45 and press F6 key.
Step 10While you’re still on frame 45, take the Selection Tool (V), click once on the image, and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Alpha in it and put it down to 0%.
Step 11Right-click anywhere on the gray area between the frame 25 and frame 45 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.
Step 12Double click on layer 1 to rename its name in gray scale image.
Step 13Create a new layer above the gray scale image layer and name it image in color.
Step 14Click on frame 25, press F6 key and press Ctrl+R key (Import to Stage) to import the image in color into a flash.
Step 15While the image in color is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this image into a Movie Clip Symbol. See the picture below.
Step 16Click on frame 45 and press F6 key.
Step 17Go back on frame 25, take the Selection Tool (V), click once on the image to select it and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Alpha in it and put it down to 0%.
Step 18Right-click anywhere on the gray area between the frame 25 and frame 45 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.
