Handwriting text effect

Create a cool handwriting text effect. This text effect is very practical for some flash banner, advertisement, presentation or something else. You don’t have to use Action Script to create this lesson.



Step 1

Open a new flash document.



Step 2


Select Modify > Document (shortcut key: Ctrl+J ). Set the width of your document to 450 pixels and the height to100 pixels. Select white as background color. Set your Flash movie’s frame rate to 28 and click ok.



Step 3

Take the Pencil Tool (Y) and from the Pencil Tool options in ToolBox panel choose Ink. See the picture below.



Step 4

After that, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Select a black as line color and choose Solid as type of line, with thickness set to 3. See the picture below.



Then, draw a line like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 5

Take the Text Tool (A) and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) again below the stage. Then, choose the following options:

1. Select a Static Text field
2. Select a Script MT Bold font.
3. Choose 30 as font size and bold it.
4. Select black as color
5. As the rendering option, select Anti-alias for readability.



Step 6

Then, type some text. For this example I will type “Mother”. See the picture below.



Step 7

Take again the Pencil Tool (Y) and draw a line like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 8

After that, take again the Text Tool (A) and type on the end of line some other text. I'm type “Father”. After that, select the text and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Then, for font size choose 38. See the picture below.





Step 9

Take again the Pencil Tool (Y) and draw this line:



Step 10

Take again the Text Tool (A) and type again some text. Then, select that text and in the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage for font size choose 28.



Repeat this process until you get something like this:



Step 11

Double click on layer 1 to rename its name in text. Then, click on frame 125 and press F5 key.

Step 12

Create a new layer above the text layer and name it mask.



Step 13

Lock the text layer, select the mask layer and take the Rectangle Tool (R). In the Colors portion of the Tool panel, block the Stroke color by clicking on the little pencil icon and then on the small square with the red diagonal line. For Fill color choose any color and draw a “recangle” about 20×60px and place it on the position like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 14

Click on frame 15 and press F6 key. After that, place the rectangle on the position like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 15

Click on frame 25 and press F6 key. After that, take the Free Transform Tool (Q), press and hold down Shift key and do like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 16

Then, click on frame 35, press F6 key, take again the Free Transform Tool (Q), press again Shift key and do like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 17

Click on frame 45 and press F6 key. After that, place the rectangle on the position like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 18

Click on frame 55 and press F6 key.

Step 19

After that, take again the Free Transform Tool (Q) and enlarge the rectangle on the same way like we have enlarge it in step 13 to covered a text. See the picture below.



Repeat the previous process, until you came at the end word or text.

Step 20

Select the mask layer and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Then, for Tween choose Shape. See the picture below.



Step 21

Select again mask area layer and convert it to a mask by right-clicking on the mask area layer and selecting Mask. See the picture below.



Test your movie (Ctrl+Enter).
