Using this thoroughly explained, detailed Photoshop lesson, I will explain to you how to create cool check box.

Step 1

Create a new photoshop document.



Step 2

Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M), press and hold down Shift key and draw a square shape like it is shown on the picture below!



Step 3

Create a new layer, take the Paint Bucket Tool (G) and paint the square shape.



Step 4

Then, choose Select > Modify > Contract, and in Contract Selection window under Contract By: set 2 and click ok. See the picture below.



After that press delete, and then Ctrl+D key to deselect.

Now, you get this:



Step 5

Click on Add a layer style icon and choose Blending Options.



Step 6

Then, choose Drop Shadow, and set the options from the picture below:



Step 7

After that choose Inner Glow and set this options:



Now, you get this:



Step 8

Create a new layer.



Step 9

Take the Custom Shape Tool and for Shape choose Checkmark. See the pictures below!

Then, click on Fill pixels icon and draw a Checkmark like it is shown on the picture below.





Step 11

After that, Click on Add a layer style icon and choose Blending Options (See step 5).

Step 12

Click on Drop Shadow, and set the options from the picture below.



Step 13

Then click on Bevel and Emboss and set this options:

Click on Contour and set this options:



Step 15

Click on Color Overlay and set this options:
