Learn how to create a ball with shadow that is jumping up and down. This tutorial is also introduction for next tutorial, in which I will show how to create Controling Movie Clip. In this lesson, you will also learn how to draw ball shadow, how to animate it and more...

Example:

Step 1

Open Flash and start a new project with dimension of 300 X 250, set the frame rate at 25 fps (Frames per Second) set the background colour as whatever you like and click ok.

Step 2

Double click on layer 1 to change its name in Ball. After, take the Oval Tool (O), and draw some circle which will represent a ball. While you are drawing your ball, hold down Shift key to get a symmetrical ball. See the picture below.

Select the "ball" (Ctrl+A), and press F8 key (Convert to symbol) to convert this "ball" into a Graphic Symbol. See the picture below.

Step 4

Click on frame 15 and 30 and press F6 key. Then go back on frame 15 and using the arrow keys move the "ball" a little up. After you have done that, click once on layer Ball to select it, open the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) and for Tween choose Motion. See the picture below.

If you now test your movie (Ctrl+Enter), you'll need to get something like this:

Step 5
