Picture Shadow effect

Discover how to create to create a great picture shadow effect, without Action Script.

Step 1

Open a new flash document, press Ctrl+R key (Import to Stage) and import any picture.





Step 2

Press Ctrl+B key once, or choose right click on the picture and select Break Apart. See the picture below.





Step 3

Press Ctrl+A key to select the picture, and after that Ctrl+C key (Copy) to copy that picture.

Step 4

Create a new layer above layer 1, name it shadow, select it and press Ctrl+Shift+V (Paste in Place).



Step 5

Using the "drag and drop technique", move the shadow layer beneath layer 1. See the picture below.



Step 6

Select shadow layer and for Fill Color choose Black. See the picture below.



Step 7

Choose Modify > Shape > Soften Fill Edges



Step 8

Set the options from the picture below, and press Ok.





Step 9

Move that "shadow" a little right and down, using the arrows key on the keyboard.

Step 10

While the "shadow" is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol), to convert it into a Graphic Symbol.



Step 11

Select that new made Graphic ("shadow"), open the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) and for color choose alpha, and put it down to 60%.



Finally, you'll need to get something like this:
